Mani Lentulo Spiral(Paste Carrier) often referred to simply as a Lentulo Spiral or Paste Carrier, is a specialized dental instrument used extensively in endodontic procedures. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the precise placement of root canal filling materials within the intricate and narrow root canal system of a tooth. The Lentulo Spiral is designed with a slender, spiral-shaped configuration, making it well-suited for navigating the complex root canal anatomy. Prepare the Root Canal:
Begin by cleaning and shaping the root canal using appropriate endodontic files. Ensure the canal is free from debris and infection.
Select the Correct Lentulo Spiral:
Choose the Lentulo Spiral size that matches the tooth’s anatomy and root canal dimensions. Sizes can vary, so select the appropriate one for the specific tooth you are treating.
Prepare Filling Material:
Place the root canal sealer or cement into the entrance of the canal, ready for insertion by the Lentulo Spiral.
Attach to Handpiece:
Securely attach the Lentulo Spiral to a slow-speed dental handpiece. Ensure it is properly locked in place.
Insert the Lentulo Spiral:
Gently insert the Lentulo Spiral into the prepared root canal. Advance it to the desired depth within the canal, being careful not to force it.
Activate the Handpiece:
Activate the slow-speed dental handpiece to initiate the controlled rotation of the Lentulo Spiral. Use a slow and controlled rotation speed, avoiding excessive force.
Distribute Filling Material:
As the Lentulo Spiral rotates, it will carry and evenly distribute the root canal filling material along the canal walls. Move the instrument up and down the canal to ensure uniform coverage.
Monitor Depth:
Maintain control of the Lentulo Spiral’s depth within the canal to prevent overextension or damage to the tooth’s structure
Retract the Spiral:
Once the filling material is uniformly distributed and the canal is adequately filled, deactivate the handpiece, and gently retract the Lentulo Spiral.
Clean and Sterilize:
Thoroughly clean the Lentulo Spiral, removing any residual material. Sterilize it according to standard protocols before reuse.
