Prime Dental Temporary Filling Calcium Oxide Powder 10g Bottle
The Prime Dental Temporary Filling Calcium Oxide Powder is a versatile dental material designed for various applications in restorative and endodontic procedures. Composed of calcium hydroxide, it serves as an effective choice for linings, indirect and direct pulp capping, root dressing, root canal sealant, and apical closure. Its biocompatible nature makes it suitable for interacting with dental tissues, aiding in the healing process. This temporary filling powder provides a protective barrier while promoting dentin formation and maintaining pulp vitality. Its multipurpose use makes it a valuable tool for dental professionals, contributing to successful and conservative treatments in restorative and endodontic dentistry.
Indications:
As a pulp capping material for direct and indirect pulp capping during restorative treatment of teeth with deep dentinal caries.
As a cavity lining material during restorative treatment of carious teeth.
As a temporary root canal dressing material for apexogenesis / apexification following pulpotomy procedures.
1. Pulp Capping Agent:Â Calcium hydroxide is often used as a pulp-capping material during dental procedures. It helps promote the formation of reparative dentin and protects the pulp from further irritation.
2. Alkaline pH:Â Calcium hydroxide has an alkaline pH, which contributes to its antimicrobial properties. The alkalinity helps neutralize acids in the oral environment and create an environment that is conducive to healing.
3. Cavity Liner:Â In certain cases, calcium hydroxide may be used as a cavity liner to provide additional protection to the tooth structure. It can be applied to the prepared cavity before the placement of restorative materials.
1 x 10g Jar
Isolate the teeth using a rubber dam, prepare the tooth cavity during pulp capping and /or extirpate the pulp to the desired extent during pulpotomy procedures.
After the preparation of tooth cavity, clean and dry the cavity.
Dispense Calcium Hydroxide powder onto a clean glass slab and mix the powder with DM water/saline using a mixing spatula. The powder liquid ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3 W/V depending on the indication of use to prepare a moderately stiff paste.
Introduce the paste into the prepared tooth cavity / pulp chamber / root canal.
Fill/close the tooth cavity with a temporary filling material and recall the patient for observation at 2 week intervals until the desired result is attained. Change the primary dressing with a new mix of paste at every follow up visit or within a maximum of 3 weeks, without damaging the tooth structure or vital pulp tissue.
Using sound clinical judgment, continue to recall the patient and monitor the progress of the pulp capping / apexification, changing the dressing as required.
The tooth cavity can be filled with final restorative materials once the desired secondary dentine is deposited in deep cavities, after the pulp capping procedure.
In young teeth needing apexification, the dressing may need to be changed more frequently untill the apical bridge is formed. Once the Apexification is complete endodontic therapy can be initiated.
